UPDATE 4pm - Waiharara fire
The conditions have remained relatively benign throughout the afternoon which has been good for firefighting efforts.
Crews have been continuing to clear firebreaks and vegetation around the perimeter to contain the fire.
The Kaimaumau community will be staying at Waiharara School, or making other arrangements, for another night as a precaution. They were escorted back to their homes briefly this morning to collect personal items and check on their properties.
