UPDATE 2 - WEDNESDAY 1ST JULY 2009:
Te Hiku O Te Ika Iwi Forum Negotiators held a teleconference to discuss the results of a meeting on 30th June 2009 between the Chief Crown Negotiator (Pat Snedden) and the Forum Lawyer (Te Kani Williams, who is also a Ngati Kahu Negotiator), and the implications on the timing and agenda for the planned hui-a-iwi in July 2009.
UPDATE 1 - MONDAY 29TH JUNE 2009:
On Thursday 25th June 2009 the Te Hiku Negotiators met briefly with Bill English (Deputy PM / Minister of Finance) and Chris Finlayson (Minister of Treaty Negotiations) and made a counter-proposal to the Crown offer to settle their claims to Aupouri Forest, Te-Oneroa-A-Tohe and other lands.
The Ministers tookTe Hiku's counter-proposal to Cabinet on Mo 'nday 29th June and were not expected to respond until late ?
