The new case is the mother and wife of the two community cases who tested positive last Wednesday. She was tested on 27 and 30 January and again on the 1 and 2 February. She returned a positive result on 2 February. Arrangements are being made to move her to the Auckland quarantine facility and health officials are continuing to investigate the details. However, given the above dates and the best estimates for the incubation period of COVID19, we urge our whanau and hapu to continue to take a precautionary approach until we have had at least 2 weeks with no new community cases reported.
Until then, stay home if you feel unwell, consider not making non-essential trips AND if you must go out, remember to:
- Sanitise / Handwash
- Social distance
- Use the COVID scan app
- Turn your blue tooth on
- Wear a mask
- Take special care of our kaumatua, kuia and whanau with pre-existing conditions.
