Tena koutou. From tomorrow (Wednesday 18th March 2020) the following tikanga for visitors will be in place at the offices of Te Runanga-a-Iwi o Ngati Kahu:
1. KAORE HE TOMOHANGA TUWHERA: Until now, entry has been freely available into our offices through several external doors. From tomorrow, entry will be through the front door only and movement around the complex will be limited to the reception area, conference room and disability toilet. Our reception is unmanned, but you will be able to ring the handbell for attention.
2. ME TINO HOROIA OU RINGARINGA: You are already using alternative greetings instead of kihi, hongi, awhi when you come in to see us. Now we ask that you also use the hand sanitiser in our reception before touching anything.
Remember whanau ma that it's nice but not always necessary to physically come into the office to talk with us. If you can call or email us instead we can and will mahi a-wairua (virtually work) for you just as effectively as we mahi-a-tinana (physically work). For your and our sake, please consider only coming in if it is really essential.
Please respect this operational response. As the situation evolves, so too will our response and we will let you know straightaway.
Lastly, we hope you have now set your whanau and marae plans in place and are reviewing them daily. If not, kia tere <3
